Holly Jolly Holiday Show
Nov. 16, 10 – 6pm & 17, 10 – 4pm
Kinston Community Center, 2602 W. Vernon Ave. The Community Council for the Arts and the Kinston Community Center join together to present the annual Holly Jolly Holiday Show. The show features hundreds of local and state vendors selling holiday gifts and more to you and your family! Though Super Saturday refers to Saturday, Nov. 17, you can get a little extra of fun with the Holly Jolly Holiday Show beginning the day before.
Civil War Saturday
10 – 4pm
Governor Richard Caswell Memorial Historic Site, 2612 W. Vernon Ave.The CSS Neuse Civil War Interpretive Center will be providing the public with demonstrations of the many aspects of naval, military and civilian life. Some of which will include: navigation techniques, small arms, artillery, steam engines, rope and knot work, cooking, spinning, weaving, dyeing, Civil War medicine, and nineteenth century toys and games. Musket and artillery demonstrations will take place throughout the day. The Kings Food Truck will be on site too!
Super Saturday at the Farmers Market
The Lenoir County Farmers Market, 100 N. Herritage StreetChef Vivian Howard, owner of Chef & the Farmer and star of “A Chef’s Life”, and Leraine Tolston, owner of Queen Street Deli cook and serve samples of Thanksgiving Sides dishes; Southern Sugar Bakery bakes decorated Thanksgiving cookies; Bobby Merrit sings; Chloe Albritton sells freshly baked French bread(donation); Ruth Anderson’s students sell baked goodies(donation); The Wreath Lady takes orders for fresh greenery custom holiday wreaths; of course, there will be local produce and homey; pork skins and rinds and shelled pecans. Local artists and craftsmen will exhibit and sell. Market opens at 8. Cooking demo begins about 11. Come and join the fun!
Silent Night Release
Mother Earth Brewing Tap Room, 311 N. Herritage Street Silent Night is one of our most-loved special releases of the year, and it’s debut is our biggest Tap Room event of the year! Kick off your holiday season by joining us for the first taste of this award-winning Imperial Stout brewed with freshly roasted coffee by our friends at Counter Culture, then barrel-aged in whiskey barrels.
This year, we’re thrilled to be using Woodford Reserve barrels for our 2018 batch of Silent Night – AND we’re brewing up three limited-release Silent Night variants as well:
*Silent Night Brewed with Spicy Peppers – 200 bottles
*Silent Night Aged in Mother Earth Spirits whiskey barrels – 200 bottles
*Double Barrel-Aged Silent Night (aged in Woodford Reserve barrels, then aged again in apple brandy barrels) – 200 bottles
We will have multiple vintages of Silent Night on tap for Silent Night Day 2018. Mari’s Hella Fat Food will be joining us for this event and serving up great food to eat with your Silent Night, and our friends at Counter Culture Coffee will be serving free espresso shots of the Silent Night coffee blend!
Also, for the first time in Silent Night history, we’re opening our doors one hour early to 40 VIP Ticket Holders! VIP tickets will go on sale October 10th at 7am EST and will include: Early access to Silent Night Day 2018, one (1) bottle of each 2018 Silent Night Variant, one (1) bottle of 2018 Silent Night (for a total of four bottles of Silent Night), and an exclusive Mother Earth Spirits experience at Mother Earth Brewing, and more!
