The Kinston-Lenoir County Chamber of Commerce has compiled all information on Hurricane Irene relief efforts in one place for your convenience. As we get more information, this page will be updated. If you know anyone who is without power, please let them know that they can call the Chamber at 252-527-1131 for assistance. If you are a business or organization who has a message to give to the community regarding help, assistance, free services, products or volunteers, please email llsylvester@kinstonchamber.com to get your message listed. Please remember to include all major details as well as contact information.

FEMA E-News Update (Updated 9/26/11) - Each issue of this newsletter will cover the most current information from FEMA regarding recovery efforts.

www.disasterassistance.gov provides information on how you might be able to get help from the U.S. Gov't due to a disaster. (Posted 9/6/11)

The Lenoir County American Red Cross would like to thank the outpouring of volunteers who have signed up to help with recovery efforts. At this time no more volunteers are needed. (Posted 9/2/11 at 2 p.m.)

The Lenoir County Red Cross will be distributing hurricane clean-up supplies at Holloway Center today at 11:00 a.m. Tarps, gloves, rakes and other supplies will be free to the public. Call Rita Spence with questions 252-523-6454 (Posted 9/2/11 at 9 a.m.)

The City of Kinston has lifted the curfew and businesses can now accept customers during regular business hours. If you still have a utility concern, please call 252-939-3282. (Posted 9/2/11)

Governor Perdue requests Lenoir County be added to disaster declaration list (Posted 9/1/11)

Nationwide Insurance at Vernon Ave. Food Lion (Posted 9/1/11) - Nationwide Insurance will be at the Food Lion on Vernon Ave. on 9/1/11 from 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. providing different necessities for hurricane victims. 

Free soup being served on Sept. 2 (Posted 8/31/11) - The GATE of Lenoir County is partnering with the Kinston Morning Rotary to provide free soup to the community on Friday, September 2, 2011 at 11:30 a.m.
